Double-lip seals (LD) are designed to accommodate circumferential speeds of up to 8 m/s. During assembly, the space between the two sealing lips is filled with grease to ensure optimal sealing performance. The sliding surfaces on the shaft should be ground to enable low-friction operation.

The introduction of oil through the bores and grooves creates an oil film on the mating surfaces between the sleeve and the bearing. This reduces friction and significantly reduces the forces required for mounting. The bearing slides more easily onto the taper, minimising the risk of surface damage. In addition, independently operable oil inlets for the inner and outer oil grooves facilitate movement of the entire sleeve and bearing assembly after installation.
When oil is forced through the holes and grooves between the sleeve and bearing or between the shaft and sleeve, the bearing to sleeve and sleeve to shaft connections are loosened. As the press fit is released abruptly, the axial movement of the sleeve must be limited by a nut or stop.

Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) is a highly versatile elastomer that combines the durability of plastic with the flexibility of rubber. It is widely used in applications where materials need to offer flexibility, abrasion resistance, and impact strength. TPU can be easily processed via injection molding, extrusion, and 3D printing. Common uses include automotive components, sporting goods, medical devices, and phone cases. Due to its excellent abrasion resistance and elasticity, TPU is ideal for wear-resistant and flexible applications.
