Radial shaft seals are used to seal rotating machine components, preventing internal media leakage and external contamination. The correct seal selection depends on factors such as shaft surface speed, operating temperature, medium, pressure, and environmental conditions. Our standard radial shaft seals are manufactured according to DIN 3760 and consist of an elastomer section, a metal reinforcement ring, and a spring. An optional version with an additional dust lip is available for enhanced protection.

The introduction of oil through the bores and grooves creates an oil film on the mating surfaces between the sleeve and the bearing. This reduces friction and significantly reduces the forces required for mounting. The bearing slides more easily onto the taper, minimising the risk of surface damage. In addition, independently operable oil inlets for the inner and outer oil grooves facilitate movement of the entire sleeve and bearing assembly after installation.
When oil is forced through the holes and grooves between the sleeve and bearing or between the shaft and sleeve, the bearing to sleeve and sleeve to shaft connections are loosened. As the press fit is released abruptly, the axial movement of the sleeve must be limited by a nut or stop.

Good static sealing
Suitable for use with split housings, with possible edge breaks and/or misalignment.
Suitable for use with light metal housings with high thermal expansion or any housings with a higher expansion coefficient than steel.
Suitable for use with low-viscosity or gaseous media.
Suitable for pressure applications (within operational limits).
Can seal larger surface roughness (within standardized values).
No fitting corrosion occurs.
Proper assembly and disassembly prevent damage to the housing bore.
FKM (Fluoroelastomer) is a highly durable synthetic rubber known for its excellent resistance to heat, chemicals, and oils. It performs exceptionally well in harsh environments, making it ideal for applications in the automotive, aerospace, and chemical processing industries. FKM is commonly used in seals, O-rings, and gaskets due to its outstanding ability to withstand high temperatures (up to 250°C) and aggressive chemicals, including fuels, oils, and acids. Its durability in extreme conditions sets it apart from many other elastomers, making it a popular choice for critical applications.
